My name
is Anya L. García Colón and I always try my best to teach with love and
dedication from the heart. My parents are Laura Colón and Pablo García, who
both worked in the University of Puerto Rico. Also they are my inspiration in
my professional and personal life because they have never given up no matter
what or how difficult life is, they always look for an option.
I started
school at an early age, just 2 ½ in a Montesory School in Humacao. I stayed
there till second grade when they had to close the school. Then I went to a new
founded school, Emilio Díaz Lebrón Elementary School were I stated in third
grade and stayed till I graduated in sixth grade with high honors. For Secondary
and High School I went to Nuestra Señora del Perpetuo Socorro en Humacao. I
graduated with honors from ninth and twelfth
grade.
I first
entered the University of Puerto Rico in Humacao in the Associate Degree of
Technology of Communication and graduated Cum Laude. Then I went to the Univeristy
of Puerto Rico in Río Piedras where I entered the Bachelor’s Degree in Public
Communication with a major in Audiovisual Communication and also graduated with
honors. I then took a Certification in Professional Photographer in Hispanic
American College in Caguas and graduated with a 4.00 GPA.
After some
time without a steady job I decided to study again something else I really like
and decided that if I love kids so much and I’m good at English that’s where I should
look for. My parents helped me gather the
information I needed and I enrolled in the English Department in the University
of Puerto Rico in Humacao.
It been
a long journey for me to feel like I’m doing something I love to do and feel
like I am where I belong, surrounded by children, helping them become better
and believing in themselves.
